Working within a team you will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support to circa 1200 staff nationally in an ITIL based environment. The Company and the Role:The Company is a dynamic and very exciting business to be part of who have grown significantly over the last 10 years and aim to continue this pattern with new client opportunities. This is all wonderful news for their engineers and potential engineers, offering an opportunity for you to expand your skill sets on an ongoing basis.Due to a successful contract win, the Company is now looking on a nationwide search, for Self Employed Entry Level Telecom Engineers who will be fully trained in house in order to be able to install new IPTV services for their clients within the customer's homes.In addition to this will come with other opportunities such as: resolving broadband / IPTV faults and speed optimising of their broadband lines.Opportunities now exist in Cardiff, South Wales. The positions are self-employed status but can be considered permanent.If selected, you will undergo a thoroughly detailed training three week program. The Company will give you 12 days of thorough classroom instruction at their well-equipped HQ and they'll also start to pay you. During this initial training, classroom instruction will be complimented by valuable experience in the field where you will shadow one of their experienced engineers. The class room training will be concluded with 1 - 5 days in the field (your area), depending on your experience, with an experienced engineer. On your second week, in the field, you will be buddying up with an existing engineer just to make sure you're OK and then in the third week, it's back to the training HQ prior to going into the field and fully trained liberation.You will be paid for the first 2 weeks of training which will increase in the remaining week and during your first 25 weeks in the field. After the completion of your probationary service, of six months, your daily rate will increase yet again. So, help is at hand.You will be provided, or leased, with: a van, all necessary tools, a very smart uniform, an iPad, insurance cover and the software licences required. Once out in the field you will initially be given a reduced number of jobs per day which will then rise steadily to a full day allowing you to find your feet - they really look after their team. Don't worry, all training, travel and accommodation expenses will be paid - so this will be a bonus too.Once out in the field you will be working a 6 day week operation on a rotational basis (Sundays are currently off).Key Features of the Role:Applicants must live within a 30 minute radius of Cardiff and have a full UK drivers licence with no more than 6 points which needs to have been held for at least a year.There will be a requirement for you to undergo an online Driver Risk Assessment and you will need to declare any medical conditions regarding driving or whether you are on medication. You are able to claim mileage of 16p per mile after you have exceeded 75 miles in any one day.You will need to undergo a DBS check before going live in the field, the application will be completed for you and there is a cost to yourself of £25 per year for this. You must have Public Liability Insurance to the value of £2m cover and cover for working at the height of up to 3 metres (ladder safety) with a weigh of no more than 145kg.You will need to have a basic credit check carried out (there is a one-off cost to yourself of £13) and you will also be responsible for your own income tax and national insurance.Your daily routine will be between 07:00 - 09:00 or 18:00 - 20:00 during which you will be allocated jobs over an average of 9.5 hours within the timeframe.You will not need to invoice the HQ as they have a team who do this for you and payment will be 2 weeks in arrears.Knowledge and Skills:You will be required to have a GCSE or equivalent in both English and Maths plus a proven track record in customer care.If you have any telecoms experience or experience of installing broadband, Sky etc that will be a distinct advantage.You must have a UK drivers licence with no more than 6 points.You must be a frequent Driver and must have been driving for 4+ years (or over 24 within minimum of one year driving experience). ITIL Services Manager / Service Desk Manager - Cardiff CF3 To £40,000pa permanent Our client is relocating their Service Desk Operations from London to Cardiff and are looking to recruit an experienced ITIL Service Desk Manager to join the organisation to help set-up newly formed service desk team (ITIL driven), recruiting, training and managing the team on a daily basis. As this is a newly formed role and function for the area it is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to create their own team from scratch and join the organisation at a time of exciting change. You will report directly to the Assistant Director Technology. Role You will be responsible for the management of day to day operations of the IS Service Desk (1st - 2nd line support), ensuring that incidents, problems and service requests are dealt with and resolved within SLA within an ITIL v3 framework environment. Ensure at all times that there is adequate cover between 9.00 - 17.00 hrs. You will provide leadership to IS Service Desk staff and volunteers including training and/or mentoring on a daily basis. Skills - Experience We are looking for someone who is able to offer solid management experience of IS Service Desk (Helpdesk) teams within a strict ITIL environment, delivering service to SLA guidelines. You will have extensive report writing experience as you will be expected to produce management reports on Service Desk activities and performance against SLA - KPI compliance. You will also be instrumental in establishing and obtaining goals for acceptable performance in accordance with SLA and to develop, update and implement IT policies and procedures on ITIL best practices. ITIL foundation and/or ITIL Manager's Certificate in IS Service Management required.
