In the end, they simply decide on the most appropriate tools for the particular project and client.The Data Consultant Role:The Data Consultant position will be based within the small and busy Historic Environment team. This team divides its time between developing and supporting the HBSMR product and its client-base, and working on bespoke heritage-focussed projects. HBSMR (Historic Buildings Sites & Monuments Record) is the UK’s leading database & GIS application for the management of Historic Environment Records, used by over 75 organisations. In addition to an ever-increasing client base, the application is being continually improved with annual maintenance releases and new modules, and you will work within the team that makes this happen. Increasingly they are building web and mobile applications around HBSMR and other cultural and heritage datasets, and helping to specify, develop, test and support such systems is an important part of the role.
