About the Candidate
At the entry level, no experience is required and training is provided. A love of data, an analytical thought process and determination to learn will provide the right foundations. For more senior roles, the successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to solve complex problems and convert client process needs into well designed systems. An appetite for converting data to information along with a positive and professional attitude will be deemed more important than a formal IT background. The successful candidate will have:

CORE PURPOSE OF THE ROLEThe role is accountable for developing and maintaining applications for the production of customer communications from defined business requirements and Design Specifications using the composition software tool CSF Designer. Applications will be developed using development standards and controls and will require the creation of supporting documentation. The jobholder will work with fellow developers, designers, business analysts and project managers to deliver applications to the appropriate standard of quality within agreed budgets and timescales. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESApplication Development * Develop and maintain applications to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards using a number of skillsets. * Ensure unit and system testing is carried out according to an agreed plan. * Support the user and operational testing of all new or amended applications. * Work with business representatives, operations personnel, IT developers and specialists, and external suppliers, to deliver robust solutions. General Project * Assist planning of projects and change including estimates. * Identify any work required to support the new development or enhancement and ensure that these changes are implemented and tested in conjunction with the processes in place. * Ensure development and technical risks are actively identified and mitigated. * Prepare documentation for the developed applications as required.
